A look back: Summer 2021 in the Salzkammergut

The middle of winter is a good time to look back on the summer of 2021, when I spent a lot of time in the Salzkammergut.

It starts with the Wolfgangsee.

I like to photograph plants and animals frequently. Whenever possible, I include the respective name / designation in the photo description. This time I couldn't find the name of the flowers in photo 4 anywhere, please write to meif you know this plant!

I have experimented with double exposure. My camera has a multiple exposure function. You can set how many shots should be combined into one image.

A visit to St. Wolfgang

St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut is located on the Upper Austrian side of the Lake Wolfgang. The place is named after St Wolfgang (Bishop of Regensburg), who sought refuge at Mondsee at the end of the 10th century. Many legends soon grew up around the saint, who was rumoured to have performed miracles and healings. St Wolfgang later developed into a place of pilgrimage.

The pilgrims' fountain in front of the church was built in 1515, the church in late Gothic style was built after the destruction of the previous church by fire in 1429. Three late Romanesque portals have been preserved from the old church. Inside is the famous altar by Michael Pacher.

I took all the photos with the Lensbaby Velvet 56 made.
