Wiener Flötenwerkstatt

The working environment in the Viennese flute workshop offers many interesting motifs, and good photos are always needed: for product brochures, at events, for the web, for social networks.

The Vienna Flute Workshop was founded in the mid-1980s, and since then Werner Tomasi and I built up the company.

We started out in a small "chamber" where flute students and professionals went to have their instruments repaired. Soon we also started selling flutes.

Werner Tomasi soon gained a reputation as a flute maker and repairer in Austria and later internationally. My job was and still is partly to "keep the factory running".

Today I have to smile when I think back to the early days: we had a telephone, a (very expensive) fax machine and an electric typewriter. That was modern office equipment in the 80s.

During this time, Werner Tomasi began to develop various innovations in flute making, and later these innovations were incorporated into handmade flute headjoints, the company's own product range Tomasi flute and the Jupiter Waveline flutes for children in.

I was and still am the background worker: looking after customers, organising and keeping everything in order, marketing, technology (computers and I were love at first sight).

Web design and photography were added later.

Today, it's the younger generation's turn: my daughter has taken over most of my tasks, I'm only needed now and again.
